I think about life without a sister I realized nothing would be the same. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be as strong as I am now. Sarah is only 16 months younger then me. We are what you call Irish twins. She was my first true best friend. They will always be there for you matter what happens.
We do fight but that's what siblings do. We fight about stupid stuff. I help out around the house a lot when she does nothing. I will ask her to help me. That is the worst thing to do. She yells at me but in the end she does help. If my parents are home she does nothing. That is when things get heated. I get really upset being the only one that helps and when I don't do something it is like the world is ending.
What ever happens between her and I we still love each other. We help one another through the hard times. For example the stuff our dad has been though. He was chemically burned in 2002. He had something going on with his legs that made them swell like a balloon. The last thing was his tow amputation. We helped one another though the stress of the events. All the hospital trips in our younger years and the tears of scare that worse could come.
They learn from our mistakes and we learn from each other's. My mistakes of letting people walk all over me. Sarah's getting mad about simple things. We show them who they can be. They show us we are all we can be.
They make us stronger through the things we say to each other over the years. Sarah has made me a stronger person by giving me a hard time over simple things. Needing me to grow up to help her get up for school. The responsibility I take on having her do nothing around the house to help.
Through life having a friend beside you for 16 years has made life easier. I am more open to people and willing to take a step further and talking to them first. I am more outgoing because of her. She is a pain in my butt but I still love my baby sister no matter what.
Hey Ashley, tell us more about your sister here. Go back to draft and say how old she is. What's her name. What have you fought about? How has she helped you through hard times? I love that line about learning from each other's mistakes. Can you give us an example? Can you say how your sister has helped you become stronger and how she has become your friend? Keep giving me the DEETS!
