Final Days of Skills USA

The past two days I have spent my days in Bangor. Thursday was opening  ceremony for Skills USA Maine. That involved a parade of champions. Hancock County Technical Center had the theam of rock and role. We got in a bit late but we still had fun. Opening ceremony was over and we went to the motel. It was pretty nice. I shared a room with Kaite and Desie. We stayed in the room instead of going to the dance. Room checks were done at 11. We were up till 12:30 because of the boys next door.

Alarm went off for 5:20 am to get up and get ready for competition. Most competotions started at 9am. But their were few that started at 7:30-8am. I competed in Health Occupations Portfolio. I made Portfolio of everything I was awarded things I have done and certification. Many more things were in side. I also had a presentation of my portfolio with a slide show.

It was time for my presentation I had technical difficulties but we fixed them and I took a deep breath and began. It was the longest 6 minutes ever. I was the 7th person to present.

I was free around 10:15. I went up stairs and visited my mom and some old friends. My mom was a judge for Nursing Assistant. I say a few people who watched me grow up in the nursing feild. I was asked by the CNA instructor at UTC if I would like to help her judge CNA next year. I was excited and said yes.

It was 11:45 and we went to the mall for 4 hours. My feet killed me. The fear of not knowing till 6pm Friday night. I got chines food and 1lb of candy. The last two hours were okay. I dared a guy to put a prom  dress on. He did. It was grate. We finally left the mall at 5pm. Back to the cross center for closing ceremony.

My parents and sister were their. As well at my grandparents, aunt and little cousin. The longer it took for them to call my category the more nervous I got. Health Occupations Portfolio was called. I herd the Bronze meddle goes to Hancock County Technical Center, Ashley Lancaster. I blacked out in shock. I went back stage. Then on the stage for my mettle. It was over when I came from getting the information. My little cousin Kaylee gave me a grate big hug I busted in tears when she hugged me.

I can't believe I placed. Well congratulations to everyone who placed and everyone who went. Everyone is a winner. We are the best of our school.
